Forward Deployed Engineer, Infrastructure Specialist (UK Public Sector)

Overview

In this role you will lead the end-to-end deployment of Cohere North in private cloud and on-premises settings, coordinating with enterprise IT to meet security and data requirements. You’ll collaborate with customers to tailor deployment approaches, ensuring scalable, compliant AI integration. You’ll experiment quickly with high quality to exceed client expectations and minimize downtime. This is a customer-facing engineering bridge between the North product and client teams, offering impactful work at the intersection of AI and enterprise infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end deployment of North in private cloud and on-prem environments (planning, configuration, testing, rollout)
• Partner with enterprise IT to assess infrastructure, security, and data management practices
• Experiment at high velocity and quality to deliver solutions that meet customer expectations
• Design and implement deployment strategies tailored to client needs with data privacy and security in mind
• Troubleshoot and resolve deployment-related issues to minimize downtime
• Travel up to 20–40% to work on-site with customers and partners

Key requirements

• Experience deploying enterprise software in private/hybrid cloud environments
• Proven administration of large-scale production Kubernetes clusters
• Expertise with Helm
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git
• Strong cloud infrastructure knowledge (Azure, AWS, GCP), networking, and virtualization
• Fluency in French
• Customer-facing experience and ability to work with enterprise clients
