Fire Suppression Estimator

Overview

As a Fire Suppression Estimator, you will support UK projects from bid to delivery, delivering compliant, cost-effective protection solutions. You will work with sales, operations, and customers to shape designs for high-profile datacentre, industrial and commercial projects. The role combines design outlines in AutoCAD with hydraulic calculations and tender preparation to drive winning bids. You will operate in a remote/hybrid setup, collaborating cross-functionally to meet standards and client needs while enabling business growth. This is an impact role at the intersection of safety, compliance and project success, aligned with Johnson Controls’ mission to protect people and assets.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Sales and Operations to develop compliant, commercially competitive fire suppression solutions
• Produce system design outlines using AutoCAD
• Perform hydraulic calculations (FireCad training provided as needed)
• Prepare tenders, quotations, specifications and cost estimates
• Review customer requirements, drawings, and technical documentation
• Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders during the bid process
• Apply standards (LPCB, NFPA, FM, BS EN 12845)
• Support Sales team in securing new business opportunities
• Contribute to continuous improvement and share estimating best practices
• Provide support to Lead Estimator and act as deputy when required

Key requirements

• Experience in fire sprinkler/suppression, design/estimating environments
• Strong AutoCAD knowledge and experience
• Understanding of fire protection standards (LPCB, NFPA, FM and/or BSEN12845)
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team
