Head of Project Management

Overview

As Head of Project Management at iCOMAT, you will own end-to-end delivery of customer production programmes, from contract award through industrialisation to full-rate production. You will build the project management function, processes, tools, and a team to scale multi-site operations. You will drive integrated planning, risk management, and supply chain alignment to keep parts moving and milestones on track. You will engage with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers, balancing schedule, cost and scope while protecting delivery commitments. This is a pivotal role in a fast-growing company redefining lightweight composites for aerospace, automotive and space.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of customer production programmes from award to full-rate production
• Design and stand up the project management function: governance, templates, planning tools, reporting cadence; hire and develop a team
• Build integrated programme plans with critical paths, resource loading, dependencies; lead risk and issue management with corrective actions
• Own bills of materials (BOM) and work with Purchasing/Supply Chain to secure long-lead items and manage supply risk
• Lead cross-functional collaboration across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality and Supply Chain; chair programme reviews and resolve trade-offs
• Act as primary delivery contact for customers; support commercial in proposals; manage contract changes and prevent scope creep

Key requirements

• Hands-on project management of manufacturing programmes delivering hardware to schedule
• 8+ years in aerospace, automotive or space PM with at least 3 years leading a team
• Track record of running multiple complex programmes simultaneously
• Experience building or significantly improving a project management function (process, governance, tooling, reporting)
• Engineering qualifications appreciated; practical hands-on technical PM skills
• Exceptional Office 365 skills, particularly Project, Excel and PowerPoint
• Strong commercial awareness across contracts, change control, cost and margin
• Supply chain and BOM management experience
• Attention to detail and credibility to uphold plans with senior stakeholders
