Overview
In this Portfolio Manager role, you will own the commercial and product strategy for Finance, Accounting, and Economics portfolios within the UK & International Higher Education space. You will act as the voice of the customer, shaping product investments, go-to-market plans, and author partnerships to drive growth and improve learning outcomes. You’ll work cross-functionally to translate market insights into portfolio actions, including pricing and roadmap prioritization. The position offers a meaningful chance to influence higher education publishing and EdTech at scale. You will collaborate with sales, marketing, and regional teams to deliver impact across students and educators.

Responsibilities
- Own regional revenue and profitability for defined portfolios
- Develop and present regional portfolio roadmaps and business cases for new versions and enhancements
- Co-own commercial strategy including pricing with Marketing
- Identify customer pain points via market insights and translate into solutions using agile feedback
- Recruit and retain authors/SMEs with succession planning
- Champion digital transformation through customer-driven product innovation
- Represent portfolios to regional teams to energise go-to-market efforts
- Engage with the market ≥20% per month to stay close to customer needs
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing on positioning, messaging, and target customer strategy
- Use BI tools to monitor lifecycle performance and adapt investments
Key requirements
- Experience in product management, publishing, EdTech, or education sector
- Strong market research and analytical skills with data-to-decision ability
- Demonstrated financial acumen and ability to develop business plans or commercial cases
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and deliver projects on time
- General digital competency: Microsoft Office, CRM systems, scheduling tools
- Familiarity with EdTech platforms and digital learning environments
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent)
