General Practitioner (GP)

Overview

We are offering a salaried General Practitioner role at Rushden Medical Centre to support practice growth after a Partnership change. The role suits an experienced GP or a newly qualified clinician seeking a rewarding career in primary care. You will perform clinical examinations, patient consultations (home and surgery), monitor conditions, and manage a broad range of acute and chronic presentations. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team and ongoing patient care are central. This is a stable, impactful opportunity to shape patient care in a community setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical examinations to diagnose and monitor health conditions
• Perform home and in-surgery consultations and manage patient flow
• Monitor patients’ wellbeing and respond to acute presentations
• Carry out minor surgery where appropriate
• Order investigations (blood tests, radiology) and refer to secondary care or arrange emergency admissions
• Manage chronic conditions and provide ongoing care
• Participate in practice administration and governance tasks
• Liaise with other healthcare professionals as part of multidisciplinary teams
• Sign off on repeat prescriptions and handle related paperwork

Key requirements

• Qualified GP
• Full GMC Registration
• Experience of working in primary care or urgent care
• National Performers List registration
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills (verbal and written)
• Clear understanding of professional responsibility and accountability
• Good clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis and management of acute primary care presentations
• Desirable: MRCGP
