Project Advisor – Utility

Overview

In this role you will lead utility infrastructure projects within a dynamic consultancy setting, guiding delivery from plan to completion. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage budget and schedule, and ensure safety, quality, and sustainability targets are met. You’ll partner with stakeholders to drive outcomes aligned with the firm’s net zero and client‑focused mission. This is a hands-on, impact‑oriented role at the intersection of delivery, risk, and collaboration, offering growth in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Responsibilities

• Determine project management, technical services and external resources for projects
• Lead delivery to meet objectives via the Project Execution Plan and KPI targets
• Monitor health, safety and wellbeing across all stages
• Develop and keep project plans updated
• Oversee timeframes and budgets, flag risks and mitigations
• Ensure robust quality systems and stakeholder collaboration
• Coordinate meetings, provide analyses, and record site activities
• Engage in risk management and liaison with stakeholders
• Ensure clear communication and task completion among project parties
• Document and own project changes and maintain records
• Contribute to net zero carbon transition throughout delivery

Key requirements

• Proven delivery of utility infrastructure solutions (power, gas, water, telecoms) in fast-moving environments
• Strong knowledge of safe excavation practices (HSG 47)
• Understanding of BWIC and CDM Regulations
• Ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and manage stakeholders
• Decision-making based on project criticality and outcomes
• Experience building client relationships and leading high-performing teams
• Professional membership in RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent development
• Significant experience in delivery phases of utility projects and programmes
• Expertise in property or infrastructure project management
• Strong commercial and financial acumen
• Experience leading large multi-disciplinary projects
• Ability to engage with senior stakeholders
• Understanding of carbon and sustainability influences on project strategies
