Backend Software Engineer

Overview

As a Backend Software Engineer, you will build high-performance network analysis platforms used in National Security environments. You’ll translate designs into production-ready Python services, collaborating with cross-functional teams to tackle complex data challenges. You will contribute to secure, scalable backend systems and embed DevOps practices to support mission-critical operations. Responsibilities

• Write clean, secure backend Python services for large-scale network data processing
• Apply version control and DevOps practices to software delivery
• Translate designs into production-ready software from concept to deployment
• Participate in code reviews and influence technical decisions
• Design, build, test, and document robust backend services
• Apply established and emerging design patterns and technologies
• Engage with stakeholders to understand requirements and feedback

Key requirements

• Python
• Apache Pulsar (or similar messaging/streaming tech)
• GitLab tooling familiarity
• Network analysis or packet analysis domain experience (nice to have)
• DV security clearance or eligibility
