Senior Investment Risk Analyst

Overview

You will act as a risk partner embedded in the investment process, helping Portfolio Managers improve portfolio construction, risk positioning, and returns. You will deliver timely risk insights and challenge assumptions to inform decisions. You will integrate risk considerations with PMs and translate analytics into actionable guidance. You will identify emerging vulnerabilities, support risk budgeting and scenario analysis, and communicate risk drivers clearly to stakeholders. This role offers impact across the investment lifecycle within a collaborative, data-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide risk insights to inform active investment decisions and challenge assumptions
• Partner with Portfolio Managers to integrate risk into portfolio construction and decisions
• Generate and interpret analytics across factor exposures, active risk, performance attribution, and market conditions
• Offer constructive challenge and alternative perspectives for robust decisions
• Identify risk concentrations and emerging vulnerabilities; recommend mitigations
• Monitor markets and escalate material risks with actionable recommendations
• Support risk budgeting, scenario and sensitivity analyses
• Respond to client and internal queries with clear risk and performance explanations
• Build relationships across Investment, Product, and Technology to ensure risk integration
• Drive automation and efficiency in risk analytics and reporting
• Collaborate with Technology and Data teams to ensure data/model quality

Key requirements

• Knowledge of financial markets, equity fundamentals, and drivers of investment returns
• Experience in investment or risk analysis (buy or sell side)
• Portfolio construction within bottom-up discretionary processes and risk-return trade-offs
• Factor risk modelling (style, sector, macro) and active risk decomposition
• Scenario analysis and stress testing, forward-looking risk identification
• Performance attribution (Brinson and factor-based) and linking outcomes to positioning
