Mechanical Design Engineer

Overview

As a Mechanical Engineer in our Building Services team, you will contribute to the design and delivery of mechanical building services for diverse projects from fit-outs to large-scale schemes. You’ll work within a cross-office MEP environment, applying core engineering knowledge and expanding your skills in Revit and BIM-enabled workflows. You will support multiple projects, mentor trainees, and help advance our 3D and BIM capabilities. This role offers exposure to high-profile UK projects and decarbonisation initiatives, with a clear path to growth within a global engineering leader.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple projects and teams with design and delivery across project phases
• Execute specific portions of broader assignments under guidance of experienced engineers
• Gather and correlate engineering data using established procedures
• Perform detailed calculations and routine engineering tasks
• Propose approaches to solve new problems and identify result discrepancies
• Provide guidance to trainee engineers
• Work within agreed timeframes and supervision
• Contribute to development of technical proposals
• Support and lead 3D and BIM capabilities

Key requirements

• Knowledge and experience in mechanical building services design and calculations
• Motivated with ability to quickly grasp new concepts and design tools
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Experience in building services mechanical design, including specifications, calculations, and development
• Familiarity with UK codes and practices
