Information Security Analyst

Overview

In this role, you will secure Fuse Energy’s IT and cloud environment, enabling fast growth while maintaining strong security posture. You will own incident response, detection engineering, and threat hunting, working across AWS, endpoints, IAM, and data centre environments. You’ll build automated tools to streamline triage and response, and lead audits and policy improvements. You’ll collaborate with IT and engineering to prevent root causes and support secure scale in energy trading and generation initiatives. This is a hands-on role for a proactive problem-solver in a fast-paced, mission-driven company.

Responsibilities

• Escalation point for IT in IAM, security, and automation
• Own security monitoring end-to-end: build/tune log pipelines across AWS, endpoints, SaaS logs, and network infra
• Write, test, and maintain detection rules aligned with attacker behaviour
• Lead incident response from detection to post-mortem; own IR runbooks and tabletop exercises
• Perform forensic analysis on compromised endpoints, workloads, and accounts
• Develop and improve security and IT policies and documentation with IT
• Coordinate with business on external audits and assessments
• Track threat intelligence relevant to energy, trading, and GPU infrastructure
• Run vulnerability management with threat-led prioritisation and drive remediation
• Monitor data centre security (firewall logs, OOB access, east-west traffic) and enforce segmentation
• Feed findings back into preventive measures with IT and engineering

Key requirements

• Background in IT, SOC operations, or other hands-on technical work
• Solid grasp of cloud infrastructure, ideally AWS
• Strong networking knowledge: read PCAPs, analyze flow logs, understand lateral movement
• Knowledge of attacker tradecraft and ability to map investigations to it
• Scripting in Python or similar for automation
