Senior or Principal Mechanical Engineer – Building Services (MEP)

Overview

In this role you will support and lead MEP projects, shaping sustainable building designs for healthcare, education, commercial and other sectors. You’ll manage project teams, deliver detailed design and calculations, and coordinate with internal and external design partners. You’ll mentor junior engineers and contribute to innovation and process improvement. Responsibilities

• Lead all project aspects from concept to completion, including team, scope, programme and budget
• Develop mechanical concepts and detailed design solutions and associated calculations
• Manage project teams to deliver outputs that meet required standards
• Mentor junior engineers and support chartership routes
• Contribute to innovation, process improvement and technical excellence initiatives
• Assist with resource planning, line management and quality assurance
• Collaborate with internal and external design teams in an inclusive, proactive culture

Key requirements

• Background in Building Services design from a consultancy environment
• Experience across multiple sectors with preference for healthcare and/or education
• Proficiency with BIM processes, including Revit and IES
• A relevant qualification (Bachelor’s, or Master’s)
