Team Lead, Data Engineering

Overview

As Team Lead, Data Ecosystem, you guide a team of data engineers to design and maintain DRW’s data platform, metadata tools, and governance workflows. You will partner with stakeholders to ship high-impact data capabilities that onboard and curate datasets for the firm. This role combines people leadership, technical leadership, and hands-on development to accelerate data availability across the organization. You will influence how data infrastructure scales to support DRW’s multi-asset trading and analytics footprint.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a diverse team of data engineers, fostering excellence and continuous improvement.
• Provide coaching, feedback, development, and conflict management to boost team performance and engagement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to grow user adoption and deliver high-impact data platform functionality.
• Engage in hands-on software development and support activities.
• Own projects by defining requirements, planning, resource allocation, and timely delivery.
• Consult with other development teams to optimize data platform interactions.
• Contribute to process discussions, challenge ideas, and refine workflows to maximize throughput.

Key requirements

• 5+ years of experience leading engineers in a technical environment with mentoring and people management.
• 5+ years of experience with modern data technologies or building data-first products.
• Familiarity with data modeling, storage systems, and compute frameworks used in modern data engineering, with proven application in fast-moving data environments.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of coordinating across multiple stakeholders.
