Overview
In this role, you will fuse cutting-edge trading tools with real-time desks to deliver practical, scalable software for alpha signals and risk management. You’ll split time between embedding with trading desks and building reusable platform components for multiple desks, shaping how the business translates insights into production systems. You’ll tackle ambiguous problems, drive ownership from prototype to production, and contribute to a central trading platform used across desks. This is a fast-paced, collaborative role at a firm focused on autonomy, innovation, and measurable impact.
Responsibilities
- Engage with Cumberland and FICC options trading desks to tailor tools
- Own products end-to-end from prototype to stable production
- Embed with desks to extract domain models and craft performant, ergonomic solutions
- Build, maintain, and extend the central trading platform
- Work across greenfield and legacy systems in Python, Java, C++, and Typescript
- Provide on-call support as needed
Key requirements
- 2+ years of experience in Python, Java, and C++
- Experience delivering production systems in fast-moving, ambiguous environments with direct end-user interaction
- Ability to analyze complex problems, identify risks, and minimize complexity
- Exceptional interpersonal and collaboration skills with stakeholders and engineers
- Experience in financial markets, especially delta one store of value and/or FICC options trading
- Experience with Linux-based, concurrent, high-throughput, low-latency software
- Knowledge of functional programming is a plus
- Bachelor or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering, or equivalent
