Employment Tax Director – Bristol

Overview

In this role you will lead the Employment Tax practice within a growing accountancy and business advisory firm, guiding complex advisory work and shaping client relationships. You will partner with Partners and senior leaders to drive practice growth and develop new services in response to market demand. You’ll own high-impact projects around PAYE, NICs, IR35, global mobility and reward strategy, including HMRC enquiries and due diligence in M&A. This is a senior, strategic position with significant leadership and business development responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex and high-risk employment tax advisory engagements
• Advise senior client stakeholders, boards and committees
• Oversee IR35, global mobility and reward planning projects
• Manage HMRC enquiries, audits and risk reviews
• Support M&A through employment tax due diligence and post-deal integration
• Grow existing client relationships and originate new business
• Collaborate with Partners to shape the practice growth strategy
• Develop new employment tax services in response to market demand
• Mentor and develop senior team members
• Contribute to the firm’s market presence and thought leadership

Key requirements

• ACA, ACCA or CTA qualification or equivalent
• Significant UK employment tax experience at Director or equivalent level
• Extensive UK Employment Tax experience
• Proven ability to lead complex advisory engagements
• Strong technical knowledge across PAYE, NICs, IR35, benefits and reward
• Experience advising senior stakeholders and boards
• Track record in business development and revenue growth
• Experience mentoring and developing high-performing teams
