Junior Java Engineer – Investment Management

Overview

As a Junior Java Engineer, you join a fast-growing investment team focused on building scalable trading infrastructure. You’ll help design and deploy a new trading architecture and cloud-native microservices that support model execution in AWS. You work closely with a collaborative engineering group, sharing knowledge and automating where possible. This role offers exposure to trading data flows, asset management processes, and a culture that rewards technical excellence and learning.

Responsibilities

• Create a new trading architecture for model execution
• Design, develop, test and deploy microservices in AWS
• Support other business units with data queries and tool-building
• Collaborate in paired, highly collaborative environment to solve complex problems
• Improve architecture and processes through ongoing collaboration
• Prototype new concepts and technologies
• Move toward automation and knowledge sharing for continuity

Key requirements

• First Class Degree
• Strong Core Java skills
• Some Financial Services experience; understanding of options pricing basics
• Ideally Cloud Architecture or cloud deployment experience
• Understanding of computing fundamentals
• Experience with or exposure to cloud platforms (AWS)
