Europe Raw Materials Accessories Commodity Buyer

Overview

In this role you will own the procurement strategy for key raw material commodities across multiple European countries, partnering with regional managers and cross‑functional teams to deliver cost, quality, and sustainability targets. You will shape supplier bases, lead multi‑country projects, and manage negotiations to maximize value while aligning with global directions from HQ. The role offers broad exposure to R&D, Supply Chain, Sales, and sustainability initiatives within an international environment. This is a hands‑on position that drives procurement excellence and governance in a complex matrix setup.

Responsibilities

• Own the procurement strategy for key raw material commodities with 20-30M EUR spend across 6 countries
• Lead allocation processes with Logistics to secure cost advantages
• Develop and execute regional commodity strategies aligned with global guidance
• Shape and optimize the supplier base for cost, quality, sustainability, and reliability
• Drive multi-country commodity projects based on plant needs and market analysis
• Lead supplier negotiations, tenders, contracts, and long-term agreements
• Evaluate supplier performance across sustainability, delivery, quality, and risk
• Align demand and material priorities with suppliers via accurate forecasting and planning
• Maintain high-quality purchasing master data for system integrity
• Oversee pricing management across quotations, contracts, and planning cycles
• Oversee contract management to ensure accuracy and timely renewals
• Support internal and external audits and ensure governance compliance
• Collaborate with local functions to adhere to Prysmian policies and procedures

Key requirements

• Proven experience in procurement or supply chain with knowledge of procurement processes and category management
• Strong market intelligence, cost-improvement, and procurement best practices
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with diverse stakeholders
• Self-driven, results-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities
• Experience in a matrix organization is an advantage
