Project Manager – Structural Steel

Overview

In this role, you will lead the delivery of a high-profile, bespoke long-span roof structure for a major UK transport project. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure safe, on-time, and within-budget erection of complex steel elements and integration of glazing and roof systems. You will shape sequencing, temporary works, lifting operations, and logistics to achieve a visually striking asset. Responsibilities

• Lead major long-span structural steel erection and bespoke fabrication activities
• Manage complex steel connections and heavy lifting/temporary works
• Oversee tight dimensional and tolerance control across installation
• Coordinate installation of glazing, roof systems, and photovoltaic/environ­mental systems
• Drive project sequencing, logistics, and multi-disciplinary coordination
• Manage NEC contract commercial/changes and stakeholder engagement
• Ensure safety, quality, and compliance on a complex major project
• Provide leadership and direction within a multi-disciplinary team

Key requirements

• Seasoned Project Manager with experience delivering complex structural steel packages on large construction/infrastructure projects
• Degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline
• Experience working under NEC contracts with strong commercial/change management understanding
• CSCS and SMSTS certified
• Strong knowledge of construction methodology, temporary works, lifting operations, logistics, and sequencing
• Proven leadership and stakeholder management skills in complex environments
