Lead Buyer – Information Technology

Overview

This role leads IT procurement activities within MBDA, supporting global categories and complex sourcing across the UK and Europe. You will own large procurements, build cross-functional and international relationships, and drive value for IT spend. The position offers flexible and hybrid work, travel, and a path toward MCIPS qualification. You will shape IT category strategy, work with stakeholders, and enable procurement excellence in a defence context.

Responsibilities

• Own and run large IT procurement projects to support Category Managers
• Build internal and international relationships across MBDA sites
• Support IT spend coverage across Enterprise Software, SaaS, Cyber, Networks, Hardware, AI, HPC
• Travel for stakeholder and supplier engagements and quarterly team meetings
• Develop knowledge across IT procurement areas and broaden expertise over time

Key requirements

• Understanding of IT procurement or willingness to learn and develop skills
• Strong soft and communication skills
• Willingness to travel and work in an international context
• Experience in indirect procurement or IT-related categories
• Interest in pursuing MCIPS qualification (advantage)
