Workshop Engineer – Birmingham

Overview

In this role you will perform inspections, safety checks and on-site maintenance for forklift trucks and handling equipment. You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs, and prepare new equipment, aiming for first-fix targets while minimizing downtime. You will work to health, safety and COSHH standards and collaborate with colleagues to support development. Responsibilities

• Perform inspections and safety checks per industry practice and regulations
• Conduct day-to-day service, repair and maintenance on forklift trucks, handling equipment and plant
• Fault finding and repairs to achieve first-fix targets
• Prepare new equipment for deployment
• Source parts from internal or external suppliers
• Communicate efficiently to minimize downtime and uphold first-fix targets
• Follow company procedures and Health & Safety / COSHH regulations
• Pursue personal and team development opportunities
• Perform additional duties as reasonably requested by management

Key requirements

• Full UK driving licence
• Proficient in fault finding and repair
• GCSE English and Maths (minimum grade C)
• Experience of Health & Safety requirements in workshop
• Commitment to continuous personal and professional development

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
