Senior Civil Engineer – Water

Overview

In this role you will contribute to Scotland’s water and wastewater infrastructure through high‑quality civil design and cross‑functional collaboration. You’ll work with the Water Team to deliver large‑scale programmes, focusing on design excellence, safety, and sustainable outcomes. You’ll partner with project managers to keep programmes on track and mentor junior staff, driving value for communities across Scotland. Responsibilities

• Produce high‑quality design work that meets client requirements and industry standards; take ownership of personal delivery and of the wider team
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely and cost‑effective project execution; monitor programme performance and identify blockers
• Ensure work meets high standards through thorough reviews and QA checks; provide feedback to junior staff as needed
• Act as an effective team player, owning elements of project work and communicating with team members, clients and stakeholders for alignment
• Develop Design Risk Assessments and Project SHE Plans to integrate safety and environmental considerations throughout all project phases

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Civil Engineering
• Actively working towards professional accreditation
