Overview
In this role you will act as the Power Systems Engineer on Space Projects, contributing to flight module design, verification and delivery for spacecraft missions. You will work within a team to support integration and testing at spacecraft level, balancing hands-on engineering with documentation and reviews. The position offers cradle-to-grave exposure from concept through launch and operations, enabling you to shape reliable power solutions for space. The role focuses on delivering tested modules on time while collaborating with senior engineers on qualification testing and new designs.

Responsibilities
- Manage and update module documentation (procedures, reports, interface docs, drawings)
- Ensure flight module test equipment operates correctly
- Fault-finding on flight modules as needed
- Oversee testing of flight modules
- Prepare reviews of all test documentation
- Review module build documentation
- Configure and update ATE to match current module requirements
- Deliver tested flight modules to spacecraft AIT on time
- Assist in qualification testing of new/revised module designs with Senior Engineers
- Support product development and new designs for future missions
- Provide support for spacecraft-level Thermal-Vacuum testing
Key requirements
- At least 1 year proven Power System Engineering experience in a systems / power electronics role
- In-depth understanding of analogue and power electronics testing and fault-finding
- Familiarity with power system equipment used in spacecraft (e.g., battery chargers, distribution modules, DC-DC converters, solar panels)
- Hands-on fault-finding experience in power electronics/analogue products
- Good presentation and technical communication skills
- Experience with schematic capture and simulation software (e.g., Mentor Graphics, OrCAD PSPICE)
- Experience with scripting languages (Python) in hardware/ATE control environments
- Experience with standard test equipment (oscilloscopes, power supplies, load units, meters)
- BTEC / Degree in Electronics or equivalent
- Knowledge of microprocessor and FPGA interfacing
- Ability to produce accurate measurements in electrically noisy environments
