Financial Analyst

Overview

In this role you will own accounting, management accounts, and financial reporting for selected business units, partnering with location managers to deliver accurate financial information and robust controls. You will influence performance through insightful reporting and cross-functional collaboration, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. The position offers a chance to contribute to financial stewardship across the division and drive informed commercial decisions.

Responsibilities

• Own monthly management accounts with variance analysis and performance commentary
• Produce timely monthly reporting packs for business and divisional needs
• Manage monthly CAPEX reporting and forecast against budget and plans
• Collaborate with Finance Business Partners and operations on budgets, forecasts, and five-year plans
• Consolidate divisional budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans for Central Finance
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations per Group policies
• Support year-end audit with documentation and auditor responses
• Deliver financial insight to enable commercial decision-making
• Prepare and manage monthly customer invoicing accurately and timely
• Provide support across the Divisional Finance Team and cover during absences
• Contribute to ad hoc financial analyses, projects and initiatives

Key requirements

• Graduate or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT)
• Experience in management accounting (period-end processes, purchase orders, and sales invoicing)
• Advanced Excel and strong IT literacy
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships across finance, operations and commercial teams
• Proactive, adaptable, and quick to learn new skills
• Ability to work independently, solve problems, and stay calm under pressure
• Experience in service, logistics, or waste industries would be advantageous
