Overview
In this Lecturer role, you will contribute to Edinburgh Law School’s Commercial Law Subject Area with a focus on Scots Commercial Law. You will design and deliver research-led teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, supervise dissertations, and develop an achievable research plan that strengthens the school’s scholarly profile. You will collaborate within a dynamic academic team and contribute to a diverse, international community. The position supports a long-term, research-driven academic career and engagement across the university.

Responsibilities
- Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and assessment in Commercial Law (with emphasis on Scots law)
- Supervise undergraduate and taught postgraduate dissertations
- Develop and execute a realistic research plan with high-quality publications
- Contribute to collegiality and the scholarly life of the Commercial Law Subject Area
- Engage in student experience enhancement and supervision activities
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all activities
Key requirements
- Advanced subject knowledge of Scots Commercial Law
- PhD in Commercial Law or near completion (or equivalent professional experience)
- Ability to design and deliver course materials and assess student performance
- Ability to supervise dissertations for undergraduates and postgraduates
- Strong communication skills
