Overview

As a Process Safety Manager at Elanco Speke, you provide technical leadership on Process Safety Management to strengthen compliance and performance. You’ll partner with internal stakeholders and regulators to ensure regulatory alignment and continuous improvement of the PSM system. Your role supports both new product introductions and ongoing manufacturing operations, translating safety standards into practical actions. You will drive process safety capability across the site and champion risk-based decision making with senior leadership. Responsibilities

  • Lead site compliance with COMAH Regulations and PSM requirements
  • Support compliance with DSEAR, ATEX and Pressure Safety Regulations
  • Coordinate with external authorities (e.g., HSE) on regulatory communication and incidents
  • Drive implementation and continuous improvement of the PSM system; report to senior management
  • Develop and lead the site Process Safety business plan and improvement roadmap
  • Chair Process Safety activities: PHRs, siting assessments, investigations, change assessments
  • Review and approve key Process Safety documentation (COMAH Safety Report, PHRs, risk assessments, change controls, investigations)
  • Identify and close Process Safety compliance gaps with practical solutions
  • Provide technical mentorship on investigations and improvement initiatives
  • Develop Process Safety capability across the organization via education and coaching
  • Influence internal stakeholders and share external best practices
  • Support self-assessments, management reviews, regulatory inspections and customer audits
  • Conduct Process Safety audits at other sites and bring best practices to Speke
  • Support the site’s Emergency Response Team and Management Control Group
  • Participate in the HSE Leadership Team on Process Safety topics

Key requirements

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or another relevant engineering discipline
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in Process Safety Management in manufacturing
  • Good understanding of Process Safety regulatory requirements and risk-management methodologies
  • Experience conducting or leading PHRs, risk assessments and/or process safety investigations
  • Ability to provide technical direction and influence across functions and levels
