High Yield Trader

Overview

In this role, you will contribute to UBS’s leveraged finance credit trading team by driving revenue generation and building a strong client franchise. You’ll monitor market developments, execute and optimize trading strategies, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance risk management, PnL reporting, and market share. You will engage with clients regularly to strengthen relationships while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal policies. The opportunity focuses on applying your trading acumen to a fast-paced, globally connected platform with an emphasis on collaboration and responsible innovation.

Responsibilities

• Generate revenue and build a robust client franchise in leveraged finance credit
• Monitor markets and identify trading opportunities
• Perform analyses to improve risk-taking, PnL reporting, and market share
• Maintain compliance with regulations, pricing, hedging, and trading limits
• Engage clients 2–3 times per week to grow franchise
• Ensure outputs align with risk standards and ethical policies

Key requirements

• Trading experience in leveraged finance credit across bonds and/or loans
• Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments and cross-asset strategies
• Minimum 4 years in a global credit platform with solid revenue track record
• Willingness to engage clients regularly to grow franchise
• Strong credit analysis skills; desk analyst experience appreciated
• Fast learner with attention to detail
• Curiosity about applying AI to improve workflows with sound judgment and policy alignment
