Lead Data Analyst

Overview

In this role you will lead a small analytics team to turn data into actionable business decisions, driving operational efficiencies and reporting automation. You’ll balance hands-on analytics with strategic leadership to deliver real-time, insight-driven analyses for senior stakeholders across Finance, Commercial, Customer Service and Operations. This position focuses on building a data-driven culture and adopting modern analytics tools to shape data-enabled strategies. You will be an enabler of commercial and operational decision-making at scale.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a three-person analytics team to become high-impact contributors
• Engage with senior stakeholders to identify inefficiencies and translate data into insights
• Balance hands-on analytics with leadership (about 50/50) to solve problems and drive value
• Automate and optimise reporting, moving from static reports to real-time analytics
• Foster a data-driven culture and promote modern analytics tools across the business

Key requirements

• Proven leadership experience in managing and developing a team
• Strong analytical ability with clear business impact
• Technical proficiency in SQL, Power BI, Python/PySpark; Databricks is a plus
• Stakeholder management with ability to present data-driven narratives to senior leaders
• Commercial mindset with experience in operational or commercial analytics (private sector desirable)
• Strong problem-solving skills to turn data into practical operational improvements
