Lead Software Engineer – Trading Platforms

Overview

In this Lead Software Engineer role within JPMorganChase’s Treasury/Chief Investment Office (T/CIO), you will drive the delivery of trusted, scalable tech across critical trading and business functions. You contribute as a core technical contributor to a cross-functional agile team focused on secure, production-ready solutions for the trading desks. You will push for AI-assisted engineering practices to improve quality, speed, and reliability while ensuring secure handling and resiliency. Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and support the Trade Execution Platform and related systems
• Design, implement and troubleshoot software solutions with innovative approaches
• Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform code reviews
• Lead adoption of enterprise AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operations
• Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge to boost automation and value from automation
• Identify and automate recurring issues to improve operational stability
• Contribute to a culture of diversity, inclusion, and respect

Key requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with commercial experience
• Hands-on system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced proficiency in Python or Java and related frameworks
• Independent troubleshooting of design and functionality issues
• Strong problem-solving and urgent issue-handling abilities
• Strong communication and collaboration with non-technical colleagues
• Self-drive and end-to-end delivery ownership
• Experience leading AI-assisted software development tools and setting team expectations for validating outputs
• Understanding of responsible AI usage, data sensitivity, security expectations, and resiliency
