Senior Geo-Environmental Engineer

Responsibilities

• Deliver geo-environmental engineering projects across infrastructure, waste, contamination, mining, and related disciplines
• Develop technical documents (reports, specs, drawings) across project phases from concept to decommissioning
• Identify and propose cost/time-saving client options and solutions
• Monitor project scope, manage environmental risks, and lead work packages
• Lead tenders, proposals, and bids with stakeholders across disciplines
• Maintain strong client networks to meet business and client outcomes
• Mentor junior team members and promote knowledge sharing
• Ensure technical quality and foster a culture of technical excellence
• Apply legislation, standards, guidelines, and project specs; uphold HSE obligations
• Promote safety, ethics, and risk management in all activities
• Coach on ethical issues and compliance with WSP Quality System and code of conduct

Key requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, or related)
• Typically 10+ years’ experience in Geo-environmental, Civil or Geotechnical engineering
• Civil/environmental/geotechnical design experience including subsurface environmental risk management and surface water management
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and coordinate teams
• Strong project management with focus on quality, innovation, and delivery on time and budget
• Experience in client relationship management, business development, and regulatory guidance
• Experience preparing and reviewing complex technical reports per DOA
• Safety in design expertise and promotion of safety culture
• Leadership in mentoring and capability development for engineers
• Advanced knowledge of Digital Engineering/BIM processes
• Proactive with professional development and ethical practice
• Hold current unrestricted driver’s licence in Australia
