Overview
In this role you will support the growth of the building safety and fire engineering department within a long-established multidisciplinary consultancy. You will deliver fire safety services across diverse UK projects and help shape the department’s offerings. You’ll work closely with the head of department, handling technical Fire Safety tasks, due diligence, and client-facing activities to drive business development. The position offers exposure to government funding applications and a chance to influence quality and compliance standards. Responsibilities
- Assist in developing the department and its service offerings
- Deliver fire safety services across projects
- Conduct lender due diligence and planning gateway statements
- Perform EWS1 and FRAEW fire risk assessments
- Support construction stage reviews and BSA Clerk of Work duties
- Assist with government funding applications and ensure compliance
- Contribute to proposals and client relationship development
- Support networking and business development efforts
Key requirements
- Chartered Engineer status is highly desirable
- Proven background in fire safety, fire engineering, or fire science
- Multidisciplinary consultancy background preferred
- Experience in business development and managing client relations
- Commitment to advancing building safety standards
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a car
