Overview

As a Mandarin-speaking Relationship Manager, you will support the growth and profitability of the London Corporate Banking team. You will work with Head Office, domestic branches, and corporate clients to grow revenue, manage credit risk, and cross-sell banking solutions. The role emphasizes compliance, KYC/AML, and efficient credit processes within a UK corporate banking context. You will mentor junior team members and help maintain high-quality client documentation and meetings. This is a hybrid, permanent role in Central London with a clear opportunity to shape the London Branch’s client base and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Grow baseline trade revenues, assets, and returns from your portfolio to meet targets
  • Enhance relationships with Head Office, Domestic Branches and clients to expand deal size and cross-sell (loans, deposits, trade finance, cash management, FX, bonds, RMB, etc.)
  • Identify and acquire new corporate clients to expand London Branch asset size
  • Provide and promote high-quality corporate banking products and services
  • Maintain accurate client/credit files and perform pre-loan investigations, credit procedures, and after-loan reviews
  • Carry out KYC and AML-related work; coordinate legal documentation and clause negotiation
  • Manage internal systems related to credit applications, reviews, and maintenance
  • Lead by example and mentor junior CB staff to foster a cohesive team culture
  • Prepare high-quality client support documents and meeting materials
  • Be flexible to undertake additional duties to meet business needs

Key requirements

  • Degree Holder (minimum) or higher educational level
  • Fluent English and Mandarin (written and spoken)
  • Solid experience in UK corporate banking with proven cross-border client development (UK and Chinese backgrounds)
  • Ability to independently develop business and execute transactions
