Trading Application Support Engineer

Overview

In this role you support high-performance trading systems and data-intensive applications within a global, technology-driven prop trading environment. You will work closely with traders, quants and analytics teams to keep systems healthy, reliable and aligned with strategic goals. The role combines hands-on Linux, scripting and cloud work with collaboration across offices and release cycles. Your impact includes reducing downtime, optimizing data capture and enabling rapid strategy parameter rollout in a demanding financial setting.

Responsibilities

• Monitor trading application health (UK/US) and route trader connections appropriately
• Ensure data capture services are running smoothly
• Investigate and fix failed scheduled jobs
• Collaborate with Data team
• Implement small enhancements to trader applications
• Assist with new release testing
• Help traders and quants test new strategy parameters
• Provide small customisations for local markets
• Support traders in scoping larger projects
• Collaborate with Projects team in other offices
• Support issues during London business hours
• Understand system architecture and metrics

Key requirements

• A STEM Degree
• Demonstratable interest in working in technology
• Good understanding of Linux OS
• Python
• SQL
• AWS
• Experience of Trading Systems ideally buy side
• Understanding of a mix of asset classes
• Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and contribute to rollout of solutions
• Thrives in high-pressure or time-critical environments and works well in a team
