Sr. Software Engineer, Cloud Detection (Hybrid, London)

Overview

As a Backend Engineer on the CDE Platform, you will design, build, and scale core services that orchestrate data, content, and execution logic across CrowdStrike products. You will help create a high-performance, scalable platform capable of processing internet-scale data streams and enabling real-time detection. You’ll collaborate across teams, mentor peers, and continuously improve architecture and performance. This role combines cutting-edge security tech with an AI-first, mission-driven culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead backend engineering efforts from rapid prototypes to large-scale applications across CrowdStrike products
• Build and operate cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks and automate cyber threat intelligence at global scale
• Collaborate with multiple teams to define and implement platform features
• Mentor and be mentored on web, backend, and data storage tech
• Continuously re-evaluate architecture, knowledge models, UX, performance and stability
• Own your work in a high-trust environment

Key requirements

• Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent professional experience)
• Strong grasp of scalability and distributed systems (sharding, partitioning, concurrency)
• Team player with collaborative mindset
• Solid engineering practices including testing, peer reviews, and resilient architecture
• Ability to work in fast-paced, test-driven, iterative development
• Experience applying AI technologies to improve decisions and workflows
