Overview

In this role, you lead UK import/export and trade compliance, ensuring regulatory adherence across international freight. You will steward AEO status, audits, and export licensing, while optimising landed costs through tax considerations. You’ll run end-to-end UK logistics, manage carriers, and shape repair logistics with a focus on efficiency and risk control. The position supports M&A integration and leverages UK market expertise to drive performance and cost savings. You will collaborate across cross-functional teams to deliver safe, compliant, and cost-effective logistics outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee UK inbound and outbound international freight ensuring compliance
  • Maintain and leverage AEO status; lead HMRC/customs audits
  • Manage export licensing and controlled goods compliance
  • Apply cross-border tax knowledge (VAT, tariffs, duties) to optimise landed costs
  • Direct domestic and international freight across global lanes
  • Manage relationships with carriers, freight forwarders and 3PLs; negotiate contracts and SLAs
  • Design and manage repair/reverse logistics workflows to improve turnaround and customer satisfaction
  • Drive process improvement using Lean or Six Sigma across logistics network
  • Act as logistics lead for M&A integrations; assess and integrate target supply chains
  • Apply UK market expertise to optimise routing and carrier selection

Key requirements

  • Substantial logistics experience within the UK market
  • Proven track record managing AEO accreditations, export licensing, and HMRC audits
  • Strong understanding of international trade tax implications and cost savings delivery
  • Extensive experience selecting and managing third-party freight forwarders and carriers
  • Desirable warehousing knowledge to support end-to-end supply chain
  • Strategic agility with exposure to M&A integrations or complex projects
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder communication skills
