Senior Advisory Solutions Consultant – Public Sector / Government

Overview

In this role you will serve as the technical lead in the sales process for public sector accounts, translating Appian’s platform capabilities into business value. You’ll partner with sales to shape solutions, co-create strategies, and build working prototypes for large UK/Ireland accounts. You’ll handle technical objections, answer product questions, and demonstrate how our software delivers impact. This SC 2.0 role combines deep technical craft with strategic customer partnership to drive transformation.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical aspects of sales cycles from discovery to final presentations
• Collaborate with Account Executives to meet UK/Ireland sales goals
• Prepare and respond to RFPs and formal proposals
• Build and present proof-of-concept apps addressing client problems
• Explain technical details and business benefits to executives
• Represent Appian at industry events and conferences
• Develop long-term relationships with client technical staff
• Coordinate with internal teams to secure needed resources for deals

Key requirements

• Experience selling into Public Sector / Government accounts
• Bachelor in Computer Science or related field
• 10+ years as Solutions Consultant or Sales Engineer for enterprise software
• Hands-on technical background (e.g., Software Engineer or Technical Consultant)
• Strong ability to discuss APIs, application servers, and databases in production environments
• Value-based, large-account selling experience
