Principal Consultant – ICT and Security Engineering, (Buildings and Infrastructure)

Overview

In this role you will lead business development and project delivery for Jacobs’ ICT and Security team within Buildings, Infrastructure and Defence. You’ll oversee secure ICT designs, coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, and build relationships with clients across Defence, Transportation and CNI sectors. You will mentor junior members and balance technical excellence with commercial insight while reporting to the Director of ICT and Security. The opportunity is hybrid across multiple UK locations and emphasizes delivering safe, integrated security solutions for critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Drive business development with Buildings, Infrastructure and Defence teams to win new ICT and security-related work
• Manage delivery of secure ICT system designs and advise on security integration within building and infrastructure projects
• Coordinate across multi-disciplinary design teams and partners
• Maintain client-facing engagement and manage relationships with clients, partners and subcontractors
• Contribute to proposals both technically and commercially and mentor junior team members
• Report to the Director of ICT and Security and demonstrate leadership and professional rigor

Key requirements

• Substantial ICT for buildings experience and ability to integrate systems into building design
• UK National with valid current Security Clearance or able to re-apply
• Experience in both business development and project delivery
• Familiarity with UK, US and international security and ICT design standards for Defence and CNI
• Well connected in UK Defence and CNI sectors with clients and stakeholders
• Strong communications and relationship-building skills
• Experience writing reports and specifications and interpreting project briefs
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams and delivering both technical and commercial aspects of proposals
• Experience designing systems such as Data Communications, Secure/Non-Secure Communications, Telecommunications, Radio, Network Infrastructure, Structured Cabling, CCTV, Access Control, Intruder, Intercom, Perimeter Security
