Senior Principal HVAC Engineer

Overview

In this role you will support the capture and challenge of requirements for waste containers and interface equipment, while guiding engineering activities and reviews. You will mentor senior engineers, help define product requirements, and ensure accurate drawings and reports. You’ll apply lessons learned from previous projects to complex, highly regulated nuclear environments. This is a hands-on opportunity to shape design and verification work in a safety-critical domain.

Responsibilities

• Support requirements capture and challenge for waste containers and interfaces
• Assist Engineering Manager with activities and deliverables
• Mentor Senior Engineers and Designers
• Assist in defining engineering requirements for products
• Guide tolerance understanding on interface drawings
• Help compile Component Requirements Documents
• Support site surveys and survey reports
• Assist DFMEA/PFMEA activity in design and process
• Review drawings and documents for accuracy
• Identify and apply Lessons Learned to technical tasks

Key requirements

• High-level technical competency in a related field
• HNC or higher (minimum)
• Ability to innovate and develop new ideas
• Experience in project documentation, processes and reports
• Proven stakeholder management
• Deep experience in design, manufacture, material selection, welding, fabrication and machining techniques
• FMEA knowledge (DFMEA/PFMEA)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in regulated industries and nuclear sector
• Nuclear design familiarity or experience including mechanical handling
• CAD experience (Inventor)
