Casualty Fraud Solicitor or Legal Exec

Overview

In this role you will manage a caseload of predominantly fast-track PI/EL/PL and Highways claims within Weightmans’ Casualty Fraud team from Manchester. You will conduct liability investigations, liaise with clients, opponents, courts and witnesses, and engage in counter-fraud work with specialist support. The role supports national fraud claims services and offers opportunities to contribute to client initiatives. Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day caseloads (fast-track fixed fee and some multi-track)
• Liaise with clients, opponents, courts and witnesses
• Conduct liability investigations and counter-fraud enquiries
• Coordinate with intelligence searches and dedicated counter-fraud team
• Handle predominantly PI including EL/PL and Highways claims
• Complete MI procedures
• Meet financial and chargeable targets, deadlines, SLAs and KPIs
• Adhere to policies and Weightmans’ values
• Engage in client-based initiatives as needed

Key requirements

• Previous experience managing defendant EL/PL casualty claims (essential)
• Experience at handling defendant EL/PL fraud claims (desirable)
• Solicitor/Legal Executive with up to 7 years PQE
• Genuine interest in claims validation and fraud
• Working knowledge of PL, EL and Highways Law
• Experience handling own casualty caseload
