Project Controls Manager – Rail

Overview

In this role you will lead the programme controls for a major rail project in London, ensuring accurate, consistent plans, cost, safety, and performance reporting. You will coordinate with the controls team and stakeholders to optimise resource use and align with GRIP standards. You will enable data-driven reporting and investment planning across the territory. This is an opportunity to shape delivery on high-profile rail programs within a global professional services firm.

Responsibilities

• Establish control processes compliant with GRIP and maintain them at Territory/Project level
• Review new project proposals and ensure realistic, deliverable plans
• Identify and coordinate resourcing to support the programme with planning units
• Provide day-to-day reporting support to Programme and Project Managers on plans, costs, safety, environment and performance
• Ensure data input to cost and performance systems meets data standards
• Manage Investment Plan production at Territory/Project level as part of Business Planning
• Comply with the Investment Competence Framework

Key requirements

• Experience in planning and scheduling (field and home office)
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proficiency with PC OS and basic software applications
• Proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of engineering, procurement, contracts, construction and start-up processes
• Knowledge of engineering and construction management
• Degree in construction-related subject
• Repeated emphasis on planning/scheduling capabilities
