Lead Design Engineer (Water)

Overview

In this role, you lead a multidisciplinary Water Solutions design team to deliver high-impact water and flood projects. You will oversee design delivery from feasibility to construction, collaborating with clients and partners to craft innovative solutions. Responsibilities

• Lead technical delivery of water, wastewater, and flood infrastructure projects across the design lifecycle
• Oversee key work packages from concept to handover, coordinating with internal teams, clients, and suppliers
• Collaborate with clients and partners to secure stakeholder buy-in and extend the firm’s technical capabilities
• Develop and mentor junior team members, supporting their project contributions and growth

Key requirements

• Experience managing technical delivery of water and wastewater projects with multidisciplinary knowledge, including treatment schemes and/or pipeline design
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams
• Relevant experience in water company, consultancy, or contractor roles
• Hands-on design experience for complex wastewater treatment solutions
• Degree in related engineering subject (e.g., civil, electrical, mechanical) or equivalent experience
• Chartered or Incorporated with ICE, CIWEM, or working toward it
• Experience conducting feasibility studies, options appraisal, and concept to detailed design for water clients and D&B contractors
