Overview

As a Dispute Resolution Partner in Glasgow, you will lead the firm’s litigation practice, handling high-value commercial disputes and guiding strategy. You will deepen client relationships, drive matters and firm growth, and contribute to profitability and the firm’s reputation. You’ll mentor junior lawyers, manage budgets, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver commercially focused advice. This is a chance to shape the disputes practice within a growing Scottish law firm and influence client outcomes at a senior level.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage complex commercial disputes
• Develop case strategy, risk assessment, and settlement positioning
• Supervise associates and counsel to ensure high-quality work and deadlines
• Manage budgets, costs recovery, and matter profitability
• Serve as primary relationship partner for key clients
• Provide commercially focused, strategic legal advice
• Maintain regular communication on case progress, risks, and costs
• Identify cross-selling opportunities across practice areas
• Deliver high client satisfaction and retention
• Generate new matters through existing relationships, referrals, and market engagement
• Mentor and develop associates and junior lawyers
• Contribute to firm management, committees, and strategic initiatives (as required)

Key requirements

• Experienced Dispute Resolution Lawyer at Partner or Director level (ambitious Senior/Managing Associates are welcome)
• Established reputation in the market or sector
