Overview

In this role, you drive the business operations that enable discovery science to develop novel targets and therapeutics. You will work within the DSc Operations Team to optimize financial planning, data and knowledge management, and cross-functional support for a large research department. You’ll simplify complex processes, deliver timely data for decision-making, and lead initiatives that improve operations. This is a hands-on, matrixed environment where collaboration with finance, research, and support functions is essential. Responsibilities

  • Execute and optimize the financial plan in collaboration with Finance and support functions
  • Serve as SME for tools and processes used in research operations with strong financial acumen
  • Resolve operational challenges related to financial data, vendor management, collaborations, and people data
  • Design and manage reports to deliver clean, accessible data on budget, lab resources, people, and compliance
  • Proactively lead initiatives to resolve data issues and introduce new processes or programs
  • Operate in a matrix organization to align researchers with BR Operations and ensure execution of department goals
  • Plan, order, deliver, and realize lab technologies and equipment systems
  • Lead cross-functional projects and design operational programs supporting department priorities

Key requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in a scientific or management discipline with 3+ years in business or lab operations, or 5+ years in biology/chemistry research with operational responsibilities
  • Strong problem-solving, collaboration, organizational skills, and attention to detail
  • User-oriented mindset with a track record of enabling colleagues and relationship-building
  • Advanced information management skills and experience with enterprise accounting, procurement, and collaboration software
