Overview

As Packaging Designer at Primark, you shape packaging solutions that strengthen the brand and improve the in-store experience. You will lead end-to-end packaging projects within an in-house team, translating briefs into print-ready designs while maintaining brand identity. You’ll bring fresh, commercial ideas across product categories and coordinate with stakeholders to meet deadlines. Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end packaging projects from briefs to final print production
  • Develop original packaging concepts including logos, illustrations, and graphics
  • Ensure consistency with Primark brand guidelines across product categories
  • Deliver innovative design solutions for seasonal and commercial briefs
  • Manage multiple packaging projects with balanced prioritization and deadlines
  • Demonstrate knowledge of print production processes, materials, finishes, and specs
  • Collaborate with Buying teams and stakeholders to ensure timely, accurate briefs
  • Partner with Packaging Design Manager to refine and execute high-quality packaging solutions
  • Build strong relationships with Designers, Artworkers, Brand Team, Packaging Coordinators, and broader Creative teams

Key requirements

  • Degree in Design or equivalent qualification
  • Minimum five years’ experience in packaging design
  • Strong portfolio showcasing creativity and commercial packaging projects
  • Meticulous attention to detail and high-quality design standards
  • Excellent typography skills; iconography and visualization are advantageous
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative studio environment
  • Commercially minded, highly organized with strong planning and project management
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience in fashion retail is preferred but not essential
