DevOps Engineer

Overview

In this role you bridge development, testing and operations to enable fast, reliable software delivery. You work within a multi-disciplinary team to automate build, test and deployment processes, shaping environments from code to production. You’ll apply a broad mix of technical and soft skills to support secure, scalable delivery in complex, security-focused projects. Responsibilities

• Bridge development, testing, network/infrastructure and operations to enable continuous delivery
• Design, build and maintain automation for building, testing, deploying applications and infrastructure
• Coordinate container orchestration, deployment, scaling and networking
• Support BAU IT operations, change and incident management and proactive monitoring
• Collaborate within a multi-disciplinary DevOps team to share knowledge and improve reliability
• Contribute to architecture and delivery discussions with engineers and developers

Key requirements

• Broad knowledge across software development disciplines and deployment practices
• Experience with at least one public or private cloud platform
• Ability to configure and harden one or more operating systems
• Programming ability to create automation for DevOps tasks
• Experience with containers and orchestration tools
• Understanding of databases and fault-finding in multi-domain environments
• Awareness of security considerations throughout the development lifecycle
• Familiarity with Agile/ Scrum frameworks and Site Reliability Engineering concepts
• Active eDV security clearance (required before applying)
• Ability to work in a flexible, hybrid, cross-disciplinary team
