Overview

In this role you will lead high-impact data science initiatives to improve operational performance and customer outcomes. You will work with Product Owners, Software Engineers and stakeholders to translate analysis into practical solutions in a collaborative, product-led environment. You will own projects end-to-end, from problem definition to deployment and monitoring, mentoring others along the way. Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of Data Science projects from problem definition through production deployment and monitoring
  • Analyse complex datasets from multiple sources to answer strategic questions and identify improvement opportunities
  • Develop, validate and deploy predictive, simulation and optimisation models to drive performance
  • Translate technical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Owners, Software Engineers, stakeholders) to support transformation initiatives
  • Mentor junior Data Scientists with coaching and knowledge sharing
  • Contribute to best practice development to strengthen Data Science capability
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging tools and methodologies for business application

Key requirements

  • Significant commercial experience in Data Science with clear progression in responsibility
  • Strong technical knowledge across programming, machine learning, data prep, visualisation and predictive analytics
  • Exposure to optimisation, simulation or advanced analytical techniques
  • Experience delivering DS solutions in complex, process-driven environments (operational/logistics/manufacturing)
  • Proven ability to independently manage projects, prioritise competing demands in fast-paced settings
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; able to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with Product Owners, Software Engineers and cross-functional teams
  • Strong commercial awareness and pragmatic problem-solving approach
