Civil Design Engineer

Overview

As a Design Engineer in the Engineering Design Team, you deliver high-quality designs in the water and wastewater sector, aligning with GT processes and H&S standards. You collaborate with Design Managers and Leads to integrate with multi-discipline production and support procurement and site activities. You will contribute to governance, innovations, and the development of graduate engineers. This role offers breadth across projects, cross-functional teamwork, and opportunities to shape infrastructure outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Deliver design outputs to GT processes and regulatory standards (BMS and H&S) for water/wastewater projects
• Support innovations while ensuring engineering governance of design activities
• Coordinate with other discipline design production to ensure integrated solutions
• Provide technical support to procurement activities within the supply chain
• Support site activities as required
• Contribute to the development of discipline graduates/assistant engineers

Key requirements

• Qualified to HNC or Degree level
• Knowledge of Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and CDM 2015
• Basic understanding of subcontract processes (contract and commercial)
• Basic project management knowledge (programming, cash flow analysis, resource planning)
• Willingness to work towards ICE membership
• Experience in Infra or Non-Infra Civil Design
• Experience in the Water Industry (desirable)
