Overview

As SVP, you will lead the CIDAP engineering program, shaping the technical direction for enterprise-grade blockchain and digital assets infrastructure at global scale. You’ll steer a cross-functional, globally distributed team, translating technical strategy into business outcomes for Citi. Expect to tackle architecture, reliability, and performance challenges while partnering with stakeholders across Technology, Risk, and Compliance. This role blends startup-like experimentation with enterprise rigor to keep Citi at the frontier of digital assets. You’ll influence talent development and engineering culture at scale.

Responsibilities

• Define and own the end-to-end technical strategy and architecture for CIDAP aligned with Citi standards and business objectives
• Provide authoritative backend and Web3 guidance (Java/Spring, blockchain integration, distributed systems)
• Champion engineering excellence in code quality, resilience, scalability, and performance
• Evaluate and adopt emerging blockchain and backend technologies to maintain market leadership
• Lead architectural decisions and review critical design proposals to ensure maintainability and standards
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of senior engineers and drive talent growth
• Recruit and retain engineering talent and contribute to workforce planning
• Own delivery commitments and drive Agile practices, planning, backlog, dependencies, and retrospectives
• Enforce engineering quality standards (testing, code review, documentation, CI/CD)
• Identify and resolve technical risks and blockers to sustain momentum

Key requirements

• Bachelor in Computer Science
• Extensive software engineering experience across full lifecycle with senior technical leadership
• Hands-on backend Java/Spring expertise, microservices, and distributed systems
• Experience in Blockchain/Digital Assets development and blockchain integration
• People management experience and track record of delivering through teams
• Experience designing high-throughput, high-availability enterprise systems
• Proficiency in asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures
• Knowledge of Web3 libraries (Web3J, Web3JS) and Solidity
• DevOps fundamentals, Docker/Kubernetes/Helm, and CI/CD
• Agile, Scrum, and scaled delivery experience
