Overview
In this role you act as the primary credit risk contact for fund counterparties and lead the expansion of AI in our credit process. You will own credit adjudication across loan facilities, derivatives, and securities lending for funds, while driving efficiency through system and process redesign in collaboration with the Toronto GRM team. You’ll manage due diligence, ratings, and risk/return judgments, and mentor a team to strengthen cross-functional risk governance. This is a hands-on, impact-driven position at RBC that blends risk expertise with transformation.

Responsibilities
- Lead credit adjudication for lending and trading relationships with funds
- Conduct due diligence calls/meetings with fund managers
- Review and adjudicate ratings, new transactions, and annual reviews under delegated authority
- Establish new ratings where appropriate
- Challenge transaction terms to ensure balanced risk/reward
- Prepare concise transaction summaries with recommendations for management approval
- Oversee ongoing credit monitoring in partnership with 1st Line of Defence
- Head the expansion of AI use in credit processes and redesign workflows with Toronto GRM
- Collaborate across 1st Line of Defence and GRM stakeholders to improve efficiency and reduce risk
- Coordinate with internal departments (ICC M, CB, Trading Desks, Law Group) and travel when needed
- Support systems implementation, data management, and business transformation initiatives

- Strong credit management skills with the ability to handle a large, diverse workload and adapt priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Independent working style with ability to liaise across multiple RBC groups
- Willingness to travel to meet asset managers/clients
- Demonstrated stakeholder management experience
- Experience with systems implementation, integration, and data management
- Background in business transformation, operating model change, process optimization or continuous improvement
- Knowledge of financial markets and asset management is desirable
