Transport Planner

Overview

As a Container Transport Planner, you will coordinate a busy fleet to ensure efficient utilisation and on-time deliveries. You will work within a fast-paced transport team to manage 50+ container vehicles, communicating clearly with drivers and customers. Daily you’ll use TOPS to allocate workloads and adapt to operational changes. This role offers progression within a stable, established logistics business where your planning impact supports service reliability and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate 50+ container vehicles to maximise utilisation and on-time performance
• Maintain clear communication with drivers and customers
• Manage workloads daily using TOPS and adjust plans as operations change
• Monitor operations to respond quickly to disruptions and maintain service levels

Key requirements

• Previous container planning experience (essential)
• Strong working knowledge of TOPS (essential)
• Background in haulage / container transport operations
• Solid understanding of UK WTD laws
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy environment
