Mandarin speaking Treasury Settlement Officer (Energy Sector) – London – rj

Overview

In this role you will support treasury operations within the Finance department, ensuring timely and accurate settlement activities. You will work closely with the Treasury Team to maintain control over daily cash movements, reconciliations, and reporting. Your Mandarin fluency and numerical skills will enable precise communications with stakeholders and effective processing of FX and payments. This position offers hybrid work in Central London and a chance to contribute to treasury efficiency in the energy sector.

Responsibilities

• Daily bank reconciliation and SAP booking of payments, receivables, loans, discounting, and other cash movements
• Prepare payment documents and bank notices in SAP
• Ensure payment checks follow SSI records, correct bank details, and avoid duplicates
• Record daily FX transactions and update FX sheet; generate related payment documents
• Monitor margin call movements and ensure alignment with policy; generate related payment documents
• Monthly bank statement reconciliation and investigating variances; report to line manager
• Perform ad-hoc treasury analysis and other duties as assigned
• Back-up duties for Treasury Officer, including quarterly SOX testing and various HQ reports
• Handle payment issues with banks, counterparties, and internal departments
• Follow up on non-receipt of freight and other receivables

Key requirements

• Spoken and written Mandarin to native level and fluent English
• Degree level education or equivalent
• Accounting qualification desirable (ACCA/ACA/CIMA)
• Familiarity with SAP accounting systems and Microsoft packages
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently and under pressure; reliable team player with attention to detail
