Overview

In this role you will assess credit risk for project finance transactions within an international bank, delivering independent credit opinions and recommendations. You will support policy implementation, ensure compliance with credit standards, and challenge Front Office proposals. You will monitor loan performance, covenants, and sector trends to provide timely risk insights. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position shaping risk decisions within a global credit risk framework.

Responsibilities

  • Produce credit evaluation reports covering financial and non-financial risk with mitigation where needed
  • Assist in implementing credit risk appetite, policies and procedures
  • Ensure transactions comply with credit policies and are aligned with risk framework
  • Focus primarily on project finance while supporting other sectors when proposals arise
  • Draft and present credit opinions to the Credit Committee with objective risk views
  • Achieve timely turnaround of credit proposals and reviews
  • Provide risk analysis and mitigation recommendations to Head of CRD and Credit Committee
  • Conduct post-lending management including monitoring covenants, exposures, and borrower performance
  • Perform credit reviews and industry/customer research for new and existing proposals
  • Proactively monitor industry and counterparty risks for early warning signals

Key requirements

  • Solid experience in Project Finance/Structured Finance credit review
  • Deep understanding of risks and mitigations across industries, countries and client types
  • Strong financial analysis, projection and stress testing skills
  • Excellent analytical and negotiation skills; proactive problem solver with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to challenge Front Office proposals and maintain independent credit views
